Israel’s Supreme Court ruled on September 7th that Palestinian security prisoners must receive enough food for a “basic level of existence,” citing evidence of severe food deprivation, Maghrebi Week reported on September 15th.

Reportedly, some detainees have lost up to 40 kg and one diabetic detainee resorted to consuming toothpaste to increase his blood sugar levels.

The watchdog B’Tselem called Israeli jails “torture camps.” National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir rejected the verdict, vowing to keep rations at the legal minimum.
