Morocco’s 18-year-old racer secures double podium in French F4
At just 18 years old, racer Sofia Zanfari might be Morocco’s rising star, having won two podiums at the French F4 Championships
Zanfari flexed her skills at the Nîmes-Lédenon circuit, a track known for its rollercoaster-like twists, over September 13-14, according to TelQuel. The notable performance came just weeks after she claimed her first victory at the Magny-Cours circuit in the women’s category, and placed 19th overall.
The first race took place under sunny skies in France’s Gard region, during which Zanfari moved up two places. While the weather soon took a turn for the worse in Race 2, the young racer maintained momentum on the wet track, gaining another 2 positions and finishing on the women’s podium.
On September 14, several incidents marred the third race. However, Zanfari again climbed the leaderboard, finishing on the women’s podium once again, gaining six places.
“After the very good result at Magny-Cours, I am delighted to have secured two more podium finishes at Lédenon,” said the young Moroccan to Kartcom. “I feel more and more confident and I am ready to finish the season as well as possible in two weeks’ time at the Le Mans circuit, with another women’s podium in my sights.”
The 2025 French F4 Championship features a grid of thirty drivers, including six women: Lisa Billard, Lola Brian, Ella Goldberg, Soline Jacquet, Mafalda Proença, and Sofia Zanfari, which is unprecedented for the series.
Following races at Nogaro, Dijon, Spa, Magny-Cours, and Lédenon, the championship finale is scheduled at Le Mans from September 25 to 27. That closing round offers Zanfari another opportunity to strengthen her record and continue building momentum in the highly competitive discipline of Formula 4.
