Kenya: Police uncover gang ring sending victims to Ukraine war

A criminal trafficking ring has been taken down in Nairobi that sent victims to fight in Ukraine against their will, by luring their victims with online posts, as reported on Maghrebi.org this week.
The human trafficking ring is reported by Kenyan authorities to have lured people into the gang’s grasp after they posted job opportunities online that advertised employment opportunities in Moscow, and when victims appeared for their interviews, they would be abducted and sent to fight in Ukraine.
According to officials, 22 Kenyans were rescued from being trafficked, with victims said to have been in the middle of being “processed” prior to being sent to Russia, with 2 persons being arrested in connection with the operation.
