Palestinian travel plans disrupted as bridge shuts

The closure of the Allenby Bridge crossing has had a significant personal impact on Palestinians, preventing many from travelling, Maghrebi Week reported on September 29th.
Medical student Maxim Giacaman, who is from Bethlehem, was forced to cancel a month-long cardiac surgery rotation in Germany, calling the situation “miserable” for his future career.
Leading Palestinian politician Mustafa Barghouti condemned the closure as “dangerous,” emphasising that it effectively imprisons people in the West Bank.
