Mali’s coup conspirators dismissed from the military

Mali’s junta has dismissed senior officers accused of plotting an August coup, deepening rifts in the military.

According to AfricaNews on October 10^th, Among those remove are Brigadier Generals Abass Dembele and Nema Sagara, alongside several lieutenant colonels and captains. The decree described the move as a disciplinary measure to a “subversive act” on August 1^st.

A French citizen, Yann Christian Benard Vizilier, was also named for “actively participating” in the foiled plot, a claim that worsened the already strained relations between Mali and France.
