Google announced the expansion of its Gemini AI search experience, which will now include over 35 new languages, such as Arabic, as reported by Arabian Business on October 8th.

The Google Gemini AI Mode search experience will now reach more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. The AI Mode has been designed to provide more conversational and context-aware answers.

The update reportedly includes improved natural language understanding and the improved handling of multimedia content.

Reportedly, Gemini’s reasoning and multimodal capabilities enable the AI model to understand complex, exploratory questions more accurately, adapting the results to reflect the specific culture and language of a given region.

Google has also introduced a new feature known as Query Expansion, which simplifies a user’s question into smaller subtopics and runs multiple searches in one go.

Reportedly, this process enables deeper exploration and a wider range of information compared to regular search queries.

Google’s MENA Blog said: “AI Mode is our most powerful AI search experience and is designed to understand what you’re really asking for and help you find it, whether you’re looking for products, planning a trip or exploring a new topic.”

Google began introducing its AI Mode in the Middle East and North Africa in August 2024, in English.

The inclusion of Modern Standard Arabic marks a significant step in making searches more precise, culturally relevant, and accessible for Arabic-speaking users.

Google revealed that early data from areas where AI Mode is already available, showed that users are more likely to ask longer and detailed questions than those in traditional searches, indicating a shift towards more in-depth and analytical online research. AI Mode now appears as a tab on Google Search.
