UN criticises US Gaza plan over Palestinian exclusion

UN Commissioner Navi Pillay condemned US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan for bypassing the Palestinian leadership, Maghrebi Week reported on October 13th.
Pillay, who chaired the UN inquiry that found Israel had committed acts of genocide in Gaza, said the plan prioritises Israeli security over Palestinian self-determination.
She emphasised that Palestinians must play a central role in any transitional authority and have full autonomy over their territory, warning that sidelining them undermines the plan’s legitimacy and could exacerbate regional tensions.
