Cape Verde secures historic qualification for the FIFA World Cup
On October 13th, Cape Verde made history after beating Eswatini 3-0 and qualifying for its first-ever FIFA World Cup, the Associated Press has reported.
The archipelago off the western coast of Africa will be the second smallest country by population to take part in the FIFA tournament, after Iceland, which played in the 2018 games.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino congratulated the nation on its qualification in a video message, calling it a “historic moment” for the African nation.
