Tunisia: Trial of refugee rights activists opens

The trial of activist Mustapha Djemali and 5 others accused of helping and sheltering refugees opened in Tunis, reports The New Arab on October 16th.
Djemali is the head of the Tunisian Refugee Council (TRC), an association that support asylum seekers under supervision of the UN; he has been detained since his arrest last year.
Tunisia has been under fire for its harsh treatment of Sub-Saharan refugees and migrants, regularly dismantling camps and expelling them.
