Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa mosque under police protection

Reports by the Islamic Endowments Department suggest that at least 93 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque under police protection, as reported by the Middle East Eye via Al Jazeera on October 16th.
The incursion began in the morning as settlers entered the mosque, which is located in occupied Jerusalem, to perform Talmudic rituals and prayers, while Israeli authorities blocked Muslim worshippers from entering the compound.
Al-Aqsa mosque, which is widely recognised as an exclusively Islamic site, has come under increased attack by Israeli settlers, with the Israeli monitor, the Ir Amim Association, expressing concerns that the Israeli government was exploiting Jewish holidays to increase Jewish presence at the compound.
