DRC nears end of Ebola outbreak

The last Ebola patient from the outbreak declared in early September was discharged on the 20th of October, marking the start of a 42-day countdown to officially ending the outbreak, reported by Africa News via The Associated Press.
Since the 25th of September, no new cases have been reported, with 19 recoveries and over 35,000 people vaccinated in the affected Bulape health district of Kauai province.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Ministry of Health continue monitoring the area to ensure early detection as the country anticipates declaring the outbreak over by early December 2025.
