Egyptian president backs Tony Blair as post-war Gaza leader

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi has signalled his support for former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair to oversee the post-war Gaza Strip, as reported by Middle East Eye and agencies on October 21st.
The Egyptian government reportedly has a longstanding political relationship with Blair, because both parties emphasise countering political Islam as a way to stabilise the Middle East.
Blair is a controversial figure in the Middle East due to his role in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, which many argue was a violation of international law.
