Ties between Algeria and Mauritania’s oil sectors seem to be growing, as Sonatrach, the Algerian state-owned oil company, announced that its team will train Mauritanian workers.

The statement comes after the company and the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company signed an agreement on October 22nd, according to the Algerian government-friendly AL24 News via APS.

The Algerian group, Sonatrach, is the largest oil company in Africa, and officials from the public firm visited Nouakchott, Mauritania to sign a contract with the Mauritania Hydrocarbon Corporation (SMH).
