Morocco boosts child benefits amid youth protests
Morocco is set to boost social protection spending to $4 billion in 2026, raising child allowances for low-income and vulnerable families, according to the Moroccan-friendly Atalayar on October 24th.
Orphans, children with disabilities, and those out of school will see noticeable increases in monthly support.
The move follows nationwide youth protests demanding better public services, hinting at a government swayed by Gen Z activism.
