Trump gives Israel warning over annexation attempts

The Trump administration made it explicitly clear with its warning to Israel that any attempts to annex parts of the West Bank would jeopardise its relationship with the U.S, The New York Times reported on October 23rd.

While the latest votes in the Knesset backing the annexation of certain parts of the West Bank continue to be dismissed as symbolic, the annexation is well in motion, with decades of illegal settlement construction.

Israel’s ruling coalition remains divided on the issue with no consensus, while Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, claimed the votes to be a “deliberate political provocation by the opposition.” More
