Sudan: Fears grow for civilians in besieged city
Share

The governor of Sudan’s Darfur region, Minni Minnawi, expressed concern for civilians trapped in El-Fasher as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) claim to have captured the city’s last military stronghold, as reported by France 24 with AFP on October 27th.

He called for the “protection of civilians” amid worsening conditions in the city, which has been under an RSF-imposed siege since May 2024.

Residents have been facing escalating violence, including drone strikes, with many being forced to flee to refugee camps.

More to follow.
