Israel threatens to escalate conflict with Lebanon
Several media reports have indicated that a wide-scale operation might be launched against Lebanon by Israel at the end of the month, unless Hezbollah is disarmed, according to The New Arab and agencies on November 6th.
Despite Egypt’s offer of mediation, tensions have been ramping up as the Lebanese army is expected to clear the south of the Litani river from Hezbollah’s installations by the end of November.
Israel has been regularly targeting southern Lebanon since the ceasefire agreement last year, in what has been seen as attrition warfare.
