Sudanese paramilitary group agrees to humanitarian truce
The Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF), announced it has agreed to a humanitarian truce proposed by a US-led mediation group, after 2 years of conflict with the Sudanese army, reports AP on November 6th.
The group also stated that it looks forward to “discussions on the arrangements for a cessation of hostilities”.
The announcement comes just after the RSF seized the Western city of El-Fasher and was accused of murdering hundreds of civilians last week, leading to thousands fleeing on foot. The Sudanese military responded that it would not consider a truce until the RSF withdraws from civilian areas and disarms.
