Typhoon kills nearly 200 in Vietnam and Philippines
At least 188 people were killed by Typhoon Kalmaegi in the Philippines, while it took the lives of five in Vietnam – but it is now heading to Cambodia and Loas after it swept through central Vietnam, according to the BBC on November 6th.
Typhoon Kalmaegi’s winds reached speeds of up 149km/h (92mph), which uprooted trees, damaged properties and littered the streets with debris as people sheltered in public buildings.
Vietnam’s authorities have said that there might be flooding in low-lying areas, with the central part of the country having seen heavy rainfall.
