Turkish military plane crashes in Georgia, 20 dead
A Turkish military cargo plane carrying army personnel and travelling from Azerbaijan to Turkey has crashed in Georgia, reports Reuters on 11th November. The incident happened shortly after take off, just after the plane crossed into Georgian airspace.
Turkey has confirmed all 20 soldiers on board have been killed, with both President Erdogan and Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze offering their condolences.
The cause of the crash remains unclear. Turkey is currently assisting the US in the recruitment of an international peacekeeping force to be deployed in Gaza.
