US knew Israeli forces used human shields in Gaza

Intelligence gathered by the US in 2024 suggested that Israeli soldiers were using Palestinians as human shields, according to the Middle East Eye via Reuters on November 12th.

According to former American officials familiar with the matter, Israeli forces sent Palestinians into Gaza tunnels, which potentially contained explosives; using civilians as shields in military operations is forbidden under international law.

The information was reportedly shared with the White House during the last weeks of ex-President Joe Biden’s term, and the officials claim that the intelligence community analysed these allegations.
