Cameroon: rights groups dispute post-election death toll
Rights groups in Cameroon have disputed the government’s claim that 16 people died in post-election violence, as reported by the Associated Press on November 13th.
According to Philippe Nanga, coordinator of the rights group A World for the Future, the government’s reported death toll is an undercount.
He said: “About 30 people were killed and some corpses were removed from hospital morgues by security forces and their whereabouts remain unknown.”
