Israeli PM vows to oppose Palestinian state
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state, according to France 24 via AFP and AP on November 16th.
The UN Security Council is expected to vote on a resolution backing a US-drafted Gaza peace plan on November 17th, which would potentially allow the establishment of a Palestinian state, which was formally recognised by several Western nations on September 21st.
Netanyahu reaffirmed his government’s opposition to the creation of a Palestinian state at a cabinet meeting held one day before the scheduled vote, saying, “our opposition to a Palestinian state on any territory has not changed.”
