Another hunger strike initiated by Tunisian opposition in jail
A third Tunisian opposition leader, Rached Ghannouchi, initiated a hunger strike in prison on November 8th, citing poor conditions in jail and his unjust imprisonment by President Kais Saied, according to Maghrebi Week.
Several rights groups and media outlets were also suspended for a month under the pretext of a financial audit by the Tunisian government.
Affected groups claimed it is part of Saied’s broader crackdown on dissent, including moves to weaken civil society and silence the Tunisian opposition.
