US President Donald Trump has announced he would end the deadly conflict in Sudan following a request from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is currently on an official visit to the United States, according to a report by France 24 via AFP on November 20th.

Trump had not previously taken a clear position on the conflict, but has now stated that he would use his position to “bring an immediate halt” to the war.

The situation in Sudan has deteriorated since the fall of the city of El-Fasher, Northern Darfur into the hands of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with the UN raising the alarm on the mass killing of civilians.
