Convicted spy hosted by US ambassador to Israel
In July, the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, reportedly hosted Jonathan Pollard, an American convicted of spying for Israel at the US Embassy in Jerusalem, according to the Middle East Eye via The New York Times on November 20th.
Pollard was sentenced to life in prison in 1987 for passing along hundreds of classified documents and over 1,000 intelligence cables to Israel’s foreign intelligence agency Mossad between 1984 and 1985.
Huckabee was selected as Ambassador to Israel by the then-President-elect Donald Trump in November 2024, with Trump stating that “He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him.”
