Qatari Emir in DRC as regional peace efforts ramp up
Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani is currently visiting Kinshasa, in the DRC, following recent peace efforts between Congo and Rwanda, reports RFI on November 21st.
The Emir’s visit follows his visit to Kigali, Rwanda, where he met President Paul Kagame to discuss collaborations between both countries.
The Emir has taken an active role in the Rwanda-DRC conflict; in March 2025 he brought together both Kagame and Tshisekedi in Doha, which then accelerated security efforts between DRC and the Rwanda-backed M23 militias.
