Libyan Tripoli and Benghazi governments sign finance deal
Libya’s two rival government institutions signed a deal that would see the ‘unification’ of their finances, the Libya Gazette reported on 24th November.
The deal, brokered by the Central Bank of Libya, would see the finances of the two rival parliaments – the Government of National Unity (GNU) in Tripoli and the House of Representatives (HoR) in Benghazi – unified.
While the development programme marks a major step towards peace, there is also consistent friction between the two parties.
