Sudan refugee camps visited by UN humanitarian chief
The UN’s Humanitarian Chief, Tom Fletcher, made an official visit to two refugee camps in the Darfur region of Sudan, Maghrebi Week reported on 24th November.
Fletcher reportedly went to two camps in Tawila and Korma in North Darfur as part of a week-long UN mission to Sudan, where he heard the experiences of “desperate” survivors.
His visit to these refugee camps brings to light the horrors of Sudan’s humanitarian crisis and potentially signals future action from the UN.
