Algeria has been accused of allowing a delegation from Hezbollah to visit a region controlled by the Polisario Front separatist militia, according to the Moroccan government-friendly North Africa Post and agencies on November 26th.

Officials from the Lebanese Shia militia reportedly posed as Syrian religious leaders during a visit to the Tindouf Camps in southern Algeria, where Sahrawi refugees from the disputed Western Sahara territory are sheltered.

The visit raised concerns among European and American counter-terrorism agencies as it potentially signals ties between the two Iran-backed militant groups, as well as concerns over growing Iranian influence across the region.
