Since October 2023, Israel has reportedly passed over 30 laws that allegedly deepen apartheid, according to the Middle East Eye via Adalah on November 26th.

Adalah, a Palestinian-run legal centre, found that laws enacted between October 7th, 2023, and July 27th, 2025, targeted a variety of political and civil rights, such as freedom of expression, the right to protest, as well as the rights of detainees and prisoners.

Since October 2023, Israeli authorities have widened the use of counterterrorism laws, which seem to have stoked mass arrests and the detention of Palestinians across the Occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
