US envoys advised to brief EU on Gaza peace plan
US envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, were recommended by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot to brief EU representatives on the US-backed Gaza plan, according to the Middle East Eye and agencies on December 15th.
Barrot said that he “suggested to the High Representative that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the US President’s envoys, could address the European Union’s foreign ministers today to provide an update on the implementation of President Trump’s peace plan.”
Witkoff and Kushner played a key role in negotiating a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which came into effect on October 10th.
