Israeli settlers, escorted by the Israeli police, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem on December 18th, according to the Middle East Eye via Wafa.

Settlers entered the courtyards in organised groups and performed Talmudic rituals under police protection, according to eyewitness reports cited by Wafa.

Israeli restrictions on Palestinian access to the site, clashed with the fifth day of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, which Palestinians say saw intensified measures around the mosque.
