The unknown suspects then entered the building: one man with dreadlocks, who appeared to be dressed in a security uniform, as evident on CCTV footage, according to Johannesburg police chief Fred Kekana.
Stock attempted to run after seeing the suspects, but collapsed on the street after being shot. Police found an unregistered firearm on Stock; nothing was stolen from him. Stock’s sister Nicole described the her grief, ”I am in shock. I don’t have words. I am shattered” she told South Africa’s state broadcaster, SABC.
Nicole has expressed that she would like the public not to share any graphic pictures or videos online, as she is concerned for the trauma of Stock’s three young sons.
Stock was an outgoing, prominent figure and hosted the reality show Ngicel’ iVisa on Mzansi Magic and also worked as a radio presenter and podcaster.
He also ran a private security and property management business, offering VIP protection services and overseeing building evictions. Many people have paid tribute, from fans to politicians and industry figures, who say DJ Warras’ legacy will continue.

Violent crime and gun violence is prevalent in South Africa. A mass shooting occurred on December 6 near the capital city at an unlicensed bar left more than 12 people dead.
The country has an issue with exploitation of the vulnerable too. A child trafficking and sexual abuse crisis exists in South Africa. In illegal mines, children are being exploited by criminal gangs. Many children who are abducted by gangs are often promised money and lured into the mines.
