Palestinians involved in October 7th could be executed
Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, has proposed that Palestinians imprisoned for alleged involvement in the October 7th, 2023, Hamas-led attack on Israel should be executed, as reported by the Middle East Eye and agencies on December 19th.
On X, Ben-Gvir published details for an updated version of the “Death Penalty for Terrorists Bill”, which would make Palestinians accused of perpetrating the October 7th attack eligible for the death penalty as a “mandatory sentence.”
The death penalty bill passed its first reading in the Knesset in November, with two subsequent readings required for the bill to become law.
