UK commentator detained in US over Israel comments

Sami Hamdi, a British commentator and analyst, has been detained by US immigration authorities, according to a report by The New Arab via Reuters on October 27th.

A Homeland Security spokesperson confirmed that Hamdi’s visa has been revoked and that he will face deportation. His detention is believed to be related to his criticism of Israel.

US President Donald Trump’s administration has continued to cracked down on speech that is critical of Israel, with social media vetting and the revocation of visas having taken place.
