More than 470,000 Palestinians return to north Gaza

The UN reports that roughly 473,000 Palestinians have returned to northern Gaza amid a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the Middle East Eye plus agencies reported on October 27th.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, they are returning to flattened neighbourhoods and destroyed infrastructure.

At least 290,000 homes in Gaza have been completely or partially destroyed by Israeli attacks, while 95% of the enclave’s hospitals have become non-functional due to Israel’s war on Gaza.
