Dick Cheney, former US vice president, passes away at 84
The American politician, Dick Cheney, passed away at 84 years old and was known as the Vice President under US President George W Bush, leaving behind him a bloody legacy as he helped shape the US war on terror and other controversial US policies, according to France 24 via AFP.
The politician who served as a congressman and defence secretary, died after respiratory and cardio-vascular complications, and he was viewed by Democrats and those on the left as a deeply hateful figure.
Cheney stood up against Trump in the 2024 elections and called for Americans to vote for his opponent, Kamala Harris, which was considered by many as a pivot in his deeply Republican stances.
