The Israeli military’s accelerated operations in the occupied West Bank is causing the biggest forced relocation of Palestinians in the territory since the start of the occupation, according to Oxfam International, The National reported on February 26th.

Over 40,000 have been forcibly relocated from the West Bank since January 19th, when the Gaza ceasefire was implemented, amid what Oxfam referred to as a “dramatic rise” in violence from Israel’s military.

Oxfam reported that this is “the highest number since Israel occupied the West Bank in 1967″.

On February 24th, Israel dispatched tanks into the West Bank. This is the first time this has taken place since the second Intifada, two decades ago.
