Israeli settlers establish new outpost in occupied West Bank
Israeli settlers have reportedly used bulldozers to set up and expand a new settlement outpost in Jabal al-Najma in Qaryut, within the Occupied West Bank, according to the Middle East Eye citing local media and Al Jazeera on November 13th.
Over 500,000 Israelis reportedly live in settlements across the West Bank. On July 23rd, Israel’s Knesset approved a motion that pushed for the annexation of the West Bank in a bid to strengthen Israeli control over the region.
Plans to construct over 3,400 housing units were signed off by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as part of the “E1” settlement expansion initiative, which would see a major expansion of Israeli settlements within the occupied West Bank.
