Trump signs funding bill to end record US government shutdown
On November 13th 2025, US President Trump signed the government funding bill, which puts an end to the record 43-day long government shutdown that led federal workers to work without pay and impacted millions of Americans who relied on government welfare, according to AP.
The shutdown was caused by tensions between Democrats and Republicans Senators after the Republicans excluded healthcare financing for millions of Americans, which Democrats fought for.
During the signing ceremony, Trump put the blame on Democrats for the record government shutdown, and told Americans to remember “what they’ve done to our country” when they go to the polls next year for the mid-terms.
