UN Security Council endorses Trump’s Gaza plan
The UN’s Security Council has voted in favour of a resolution drafted by the US, allowing for an International Stabilisation Force (ISF) to be deployed in Gaza, according to Reuters on November 18th.
Russia did not veto the vote but chose to abstain, along with China. The resolution backs US President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza that was unveiled in September, which includes plans for the re-development of Gaza.
Egypt is set to be heavily involved in the implementation of the plan, which critics have branded as “colonial” due to its lack of Palestinian representation.
