Gambia and Malawi have supported Morocco’s sovereignty over the Western Sahara, according to the Moroccan government-friendly North Africa Post and agencies on November 19th.

Resolution 2797, which enshrined the sovereignty plan, has been hailed by Gambian Foreign Minister Sering Modou Njie as the “only solution” for the disputed territory, a sentiment echoed by his Malawian counterpart George Tapatula Chaponda.

Morocco’s autonomy proposal has been supported by 130 nations as the most feasible solution to the ongoing territorial dispute, with the UN Security Council voting to support this position on October 31st.
