Israeli politicans debate death penalty details

Members of the Israeli National Security Committee have been debating executing Palestinian prisoners with a lethal injection, according to the Middle East Eye and agencies on November 19th.

A bill that would impose the death penalty on Palestinians convicted of killing Israelis on “nationalistic grounds” has passed its first Knesset reading.

On November 10th, the Committee approved the bill by a vote of 39 to 16, with the Committee issuing a statement that said the “purpose is to cut off terrorism at its root and create a heavy deterrent.”
