Less than a month after 5G was launched by 3 operators in Morocco, it is now Algeria ‘s turn to deploy the faster network technology, announced state-friendly TSA Algerie on 3rd December.

Three network operators have been licensed by the state: Mobilis, Djezzy and Ooredoo will be able to offer 5G to their customers, and their representatives participated in the launch ceremony in Algiers.

The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications released a statement noting that the launch was part of a 6-year project to modernize the country’s networks, starting in priority areas (Algiers and other large cities) and gradually expanding the network across the whole country.
