Western Sahara: Gulf states back Moroccan plan
Share

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has reaffirmed its support for Moroccan sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara territory, according to Africanews and agencies on December 4th.

This supportive stance was reiterated following the end of the 46th Supreme Council, with the council backing Rabat’s Resolution 2797, which received support from the UN Security Council on October 31st.

The GCC is a partnership between Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. Ties between the GCC and Morocco have been growing, especially between the North African country and the UAE.
