Israel designates waste burning a security threat in West Bank
Israeli authorities have designated Palestinians burning waste in the Occupied West Bank as a national security threat, as reported by the Middle East Eye via Haaretz on December 18th.
An emergency national security meeting was held on December 18th, with Defence Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich leading the discussions between West Bank settlement leaders and mayors from central Israel.
This designation comes after one Israeli MP, Zvi Sukkot of the Jewish Power Party, suggested executing Palestinians who burn waste.
