Germany approves $3.1bn Israel weapons deal
Israel’s Defence Ministry announced that Tel Aviv will supply Berlin with Arrow 3 missile defence systems worth $3.1 billion, as reported by the Middle East Eye and agencies on December 18th.
Although Germany suspended arms exports to Israel in August, the embargo was reversed in November, with a German government spokesperson stating, “The government will, as a general rule, revert to case-by-case reviews in decisions on arms exports and respond to further developments.”
Following a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reaffirmed his country’s support for Israel.
