Gaza reconstruction plan to cost over $112 billion

A plan to reconstruct the Gaza Strip as an urban, high-tech metropolis is expected to cost more than $112 billion, according to a proposal from US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as reported by the Middle East Eye via The Wall Street Journal on December 19th.

A 32-page PowerPoint presentation proposed that the US would cover 20% of the costs, with the project estimated to take 10 years to complete.

Kushner previously suggested only rebuilding Israeli-occupied parts of Gaza in October, stating that reconstruction funds should not be allocated to areas under Hamas control.
