Algeria accuses France of “blatant interference” in latest spat

Algeria has accused French President Emmanuel Macron of “blatant interference” in domestic affairs, in the latest of a bitter spat between the two Mediterranean neighbours.

According to MiddleEastMonitor on January 7th, the accusations followed Macron’s comments on the detained Franco-Algerian writer Bousalem Sansal, calling his imprisonment in Algeria since November a “disgraceful matter”.

France recently arrested three Algerian influencers – Youssef Zazou, Nouman Boualem and Imad Obi, known as ‘Imad Tintin’ – who they claimed were spreading terrorism and hatred on Tiktok, according Atalayar.
